Destiny 2 is taking players back to the Moon in their latest look at Shadowkeep Expansion

Bungie recently showed off a brand new look at the Moon in Destiny 2. A returning location and the setting for the upcoming Shadowkeep DLC.

The short preview trailer, which you can watch above, was shown off to attendees at GaurdianCon. The trailer is only 40 seconds long and quickly cuts through various shots of the moon, showing off some familiar-looking places and some all-new areas.

The Moon was, of course, a location which players could explore all the way back in Destiny 1 and is quite important to the lore of the game, for any of my fellow nerds out there. It was sadly missed out in Destiny 2 despite fans wanting to go back, but now Guardians prayers have been answered.

The Moon itself is looking pretty sweet with an interesting new red colored fortress being shown off, obviously the setting for the DLC, and the trailer ends with a tease of an infamous Destiny character returning. A quick shot of Eris Morn, a classic Destiny 1 vendor who, like the Moon, was also absent from Destiny 2 until now. I imagine she will take on a similar role to that of the Drifter where she will be essential to the story and will also double up as some sort of vendor to visit and purchase things from.

On top of our first look at the Moon, one of Shadowkeep’s new exotic weapons was shown off, in a particularly strange fashion. A real-life model of the weapon was brought out during GuardianCon and its a weird looking one.

The weapon, which has not been named as of yet appears to be a machine gun powered by some sort of pre-historic bug trapped in a block of amber…Did anyone else start humming the Jurassic Park theme tune or was it just me? We don’t yet know if this will be a random drop or an exotic tied to a quest like many of Forsaken’s exotics.

Shadowkeep is set to launch September 17th as its own separate expansion so you won’t be forced into playing previous expansions to play this content. We will no doubt see some new teases and reveals in the coming weeks.

Destiny 2’s Eververse Store is receiving some big changes

With Destiny 2’s next big expansion Shadowkeep on the horizon, Bungie has decided to make some much-needed changes to the Eververse store ahead of its release.

The Eververse store is the place all Guardians go to splash some cash and spice up the way they look. The biggest problem with the Eververse gear is finding a sweet looking helmet or chest plate only to see it has worthless perks which aren’t going to help you at all. Now that won’t be a problem. Once the update drops on September 17th all Eververse gear will be converted into “Universal Ornaments”. These ornaments can be equipped on any of the new legendary gear releasing this fall with Shadowkeep allowing you to keep the perks on that gear but change the look to something more your style.

As for any Eververse Armor, you have already got your hands on,  Its Universal Ornaments will be automatically unlocked in your collections ready to be used on Shaodwkeep’s new legendary gear.

Bright Dust, one of Destiny 2’s many in-game resources will also be getting a change come September 17th. Now the Bright Dust is best earned by buying a whole load of Bright Engrams and dismantling the loot for Bright Dust so you can actually buy the things you want. Bright Dust will be “changing from a pay- and/or play-to-earn currency to a play-to-earn reward”. Bright Dust will now be rewarded from Vanguard, Crucible and, Gambit bounties.

It will also no longer cost Bright Dust to retrieve items such as Ghost Shells or Sparrows from your collection, instead, using up players Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Because of this change, dismantling Eververse items will no longer give you Bright Dust instead giving you Legendary Shards and Glimmer, so if you want to stock up on Bright Dust before the changes you best get dismantling quick!

Moving the Eververse more into a “play-to-earn” environment, and allowing the sweet looking loot to actually be used without compromising on in-game perks all sounds pretty good to me, but what are your thoughts? Let us know down below or over on Twitter.

Destiny 2 Players Are Unhappy With The Game’s Most Recent Update Weakening Their Favorite Weapons

Bungie has been consistently tweaking and updating their AAA looter shooter and flagship title, Destiny 2 through various live updates. It appears they have kicked the hornet’s nest with their latest one which has left many players unhappy.

Bungie has detailed, on their official blog, not only the upcoming “Season of Opulence” which will start June 4th but they have also detailed various tweaks to some of the games most infamous Exotic weapons and gear. Bungie stated that with the launch of a new season there will also be a new raid which they want players to “plan accordingly” for. The most notable changes come to the exotic sniper rifle Whisper of the Worm and exotic linear fusion rifle Sleeper Simulant. The former has now had its infinite ammo perk removed in order to get players using different snipers and Sleeper Simulant has had its bounced shot damaged reduced. Both of these weapons are not only considered fan favorites but also two of the most powerful weapons in the entire game. There apparent nerf is to help get other lesser used exotics back into guardians hands.

The Blog then goes onto to detail various changes to exotic armor, more specifically in terms of armor which helps players generate their super-charge abilities, basically their ultimalty abilities. “Along with the weapons above, we will also be making some changes to some Exotic armor pieces. Primarily, we’re paying attention to pieces of Exotic armor that grant back Super energy. We felt they are increasingly becoming “must-pick” gear choices. Orb generation from teammates is meant to be the best way to accelerate your Super generation. These Exotics are allowing players to bypass this teamwork mechanic by generating a large amount of Super energy without relying on other players’ orbs”.

Armor pieces such as the Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Orpheus Rigs, and Phoenix Protocol give players super energy back, upon using their super abilities which meant players could chain multiple super’s in quick succession. As cool as it was to feel like an overpowered space wizard destroying everything in front of you, Bungie just made it much harder. These armors will “now receive Super energy back with diminishing returns, making it rarer to get a full Super back”.

Fans can still hold onto some hope however, as the full patch notes for Destiny 2’s next season of content haven’t dropped yet and will most likely contain even more changes and tweaks. How fans will respond to them is unknown but many have shown their distaste to this recent update with some even threatening to leave the game until their favorite weapons are restored to their former glory. Regardless of whether that happens, Bungie does listen to its very vocal community but it remains to be seen if they take any action on players most recent comments.

Are you unhappy with Bungie’s most recent update and some of their changes to exotic weapons and gear? Are you excited for Season of Opulence? Let us know down below or over on Twitter.

Destiny 2’s Next Big Event, The Revelry, Will Be Arriving Soon

Bungie has officially revealed what Destiny 2’s next big event will be…The Revelry! I hope you’re ready to hop into some Easter fun. No, I’m not ashamed of that pun. Not one bit.

Verdant Forest

The main piece of added content for the Revelry, which starts Tuesday, April 16 and ends Tuesday, May 7 is a new activity called the Verdant Forest. Whilst players who experienced the Haunted Forest might be feeling some Deja vu this time its blooming bright with all the flora of Spring and will apparently have some “New twists to fight through.”. You have to clear as many rooms as possible within the forest and the more you clear the more time you’ll have at the end to face off against 5 different bosses and claim your well-earned rewards.

The activity can be played with a team or solo and if you don’t have a team you can be matchmade into one. Whilst solo play is possible Bungie themselves recommend bringing along some friends.

The New Revelry Armour

The Revelry will also feature a brand new set of armour which can be obtained from defeating bosses in the Verdant Forest so time to get grinding! Eva, a vendor in Destiny 2’s HUb area The Tower will be central to the event and will have 5 weekly bounties availbe that also grant players new armor pieces. Each of these pieces will boost the effects of another new addition; The Revelers Tonic.

The Tonic will be given to guardians when they first visit Eva and can be filled with Revelers Essence from killing bosses in the Verdant Forest. There are 3 different tonics which each decrease cooldowns for either grenades, melee or class ability. The more revelry armour you equip the more potent your tonic effects will be and other than private matches they can be used in any activity in Destiny 2…including the Crucible so if you want that extra edge you better take a visit to the Verdant Forest.

Some Spring Firepower

If you want an extra kick this spring you can complete triumphs as well as hand in Revelers Essence to earn a new exotic fusion rifle, The Arbalest. Its the only weapon of its kind and does extra damage towards shields.

Easter Goodies

The event also features double drops for both Bright Engrams and Revelry Engram’s for players who are at max rank each time they level up. There will also be a feature which prevents players from getting duplicate items in their engrams. A nice touch. Below are just some of the possible rewards you could get including a ladybug themed Ghost Shell and a golfing emote…yeah don’t ask.

Will you be jumping into the Revelry Event on Destiny 2 when it officially starts. Let us know and give us your thoughts on the whole event down below or over on Twitter.

Bungie Announces Split with Activision and Gains Full Ownership of Destiny

Bungie has officially announced that it is parting ways with Activision after what has been a troublesome eight-year relationship and will walk away with “full publishing rights and responsibilities for the Destiny franchise”.

Bungie and Activision began their partnership all the way back in April of 2010 with the announcement of a 10-year publishing deal. That has lead to the release of both Destiny in 2014 and its eventual sequel Destiny 2 in 2017. The deal was to see Bungie keep full ownership of the IP whilst Activision were to be given full publishing rights, however, in a statement released yesterday Activision has confirmed that “we’re announcing plans for Bungie to assume full publishing rights and responsibilities for the Destiny franchise. Going forward, Bungie will own and develop the franchise, and Activision will increase its focus on owned IP and other projects.”

Image result for destiny 2

When speaking on the matter in their own statement, Bungie stated “We have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie.” The studio also stated that plans for the transition process are already underway and that both parties are aiming to make the transition “as seamless as possible”.

Blizzard has also come forward on the matter reassuring fans that Destiny 2 will still be fully supported on BattleNet and that they “Do not anticipate any disruption to our services or your gameplay experience”.

Whilst the news is a surprise for most of us due to the supposed 10-year deal it is hardly shocking considering Activision more than questionable past when it comes to Destiny’s publication plus the manner in which they’ve handled other titles and the fact that their relationship with Bungie has been publicly problematic for a while now.

As for the reaction of the Destiny fanbase, it has been extremely positive with many Criticising Activision for the release schedule that they put on Bingie resulting in incidents such as Destiny 2’s sub-par launch and the first 2 DLC’s of the game being lackluster. Now Bungie is free to focus on whatever they wish too which will most likely be Destiny 3 for the PS5 and the next generation of Xbox. Fan’s can also expect fewer console exclusives in Destiny 2’s future and even Destiny 3 as Bungie have openly never liked them and they were pushed for by Activision.

Overall this is a fantastic move not only for the Destiny franchise and the fans but also for Bungie as a developer. Let us know your thoughts on this news and we’ll keep you updated with any new announcements.

Season 5 Arrives in Destiny 2 in Preparation for Black Armory DLC

An all-new season of content, challenges, quests, and gear has arrived for all Destiny 2 players a week before the much anticipated Black Armory DLC which is set to arrive next Tuesday, December 4th. We’ve got new weapons to grind for, new cosmetics, sparrows, and emotes to try and unlock and a whole load of Black Armory news to go through so let’s not waste any more time and break down exactly what we know.

Pinnacle Weapons

In previous seasons the Crucible was the only activity to have legendary quest weapons to grind for and these were easily some of the most challenging weapons to get your hands on but easily some of the most powerful. All you PVP Guardians out there need not worry however because the Crucible hasn’t lost their weapon this season with an all-new Kinetic Grenade Launcher know as The Mountain Top arriving this season. this weapon, similar to previous weapons will require many, may ours of Competitive play as well as various grenade launcher related quest steps to be completed before unlocking. On top of that the Vanguard and even Gambit now also have their own pinnacle weapons to grind for with The Loaded Question fusion rifle for the vanguard and The Breakneck auto rifle for all you gambit players. From personal experience, these two weapons seem much easier to obtain than last seasons or even this seasons crucible counterpart only having very simple quest steps such as arc kills or strike completions. Nothing too hard and something everyone should be able to get their hands on. As for The Mountain Top, I still need the good old Lubas Howl and Redrix’s Broadsword and Grenade Launchers aren’t really my thing so I’ll be giving it a pass. All 3 weapons can be seen below.

Pay to…look good?

Despite all of Destiny 2’s problems, its micro-transaction system is something I’ve always admired. Almost purely cosmetic items that can be gained from regular gameplay anyway if you’d rather invest time over money. This season has brought some of the best sparrows and emotes I’ve ever seen with the Burnout sparrow and Nothing is Wrong emotes being my favorite. We’ve also got some new exotic ornaments for some year 1 exotics with hopefully some tournaments arriving for DLC exotics soon.

Black Armory

Now let’s get onto what we’re all really here for. That juicy Balck Armory gossip and with have quite a bit to go through. I’ll leave a full image for the road map below but for the most part, we have what we’d expect such as a power increase, most likely to 650 based of new exotic stats, as well as new vanity items, and an all-new exotic quest which is more than likely going to be rewarding fan favorite hand cannon and returning Destiny 1 exotic The Last Word. We’ll also be getting a brand new raid, rather than raid lair, which I am super hyped for which will launch December 7th, 3 days after the initial DLC launch and will be set in the last City. We’ll also be getting a brand new vendor with all new bounties, a brand new activity called “Forges” which will release throughout the month, new enemy variants, materials and of course weapons and armor.

Speaking of those new weapons lets check out the 3 brand new DLC exotics that Bungie revealed earlier yesterday.

We have the Anarchy exotic grenade launcher which is the only grenade launcher I have ever actually wanted to get.

Image result for destiny 2 black armory exotic

We have the exotic sniper Izanagi’s Burden which will be one shot body shot in the crucible. Very Interesting.

Finally, we have the exotic bow Le Monarque which I’ll be honest Im not too excited for because I’m not a huge archer but it’s nice to get some more variety for the bows. Exotic armor hasn’t been released yet but there will be plenty to grind for in the DLC.

Below is the roadmap for Destiny 2 showing exactly what new content will be arriving and when.

I’m super hyped for the Black Armoury DLC but I’m also pleasantly surprised to see so much content arriving with the new season which anyone can play through and grind for.
